The number on the scale is not always the true measurement of your health. Unhealthy body composition can be stopped or reversed.  since I did not start exercising until I was 59, I am living proof that body composition can be reversed.  A healthy low fat, high fiber, low glycemic diet along with exercise will lead to converting fat into muscle.  Since muscle weight is heavier than fat, you will start seeing your body change before seeing the numbers on the scale drop.  You will look more fit.

Aging Facts

As we age we atomically lose lean muscle.  Muscle mass decreases approximately 3-8% per decade after the age of 30.  This ratio increases even higher after the age of 60.
